WHY GO WEST?

Tom and Pat Seay, originally horseback outfitters in the Blue Ridge Mountains,

coined the phrase,"Why Go West", when people can enjoy the rural lifestyle right here at Andora Farm

through a variety of outdoor events in the spring, summer, and fall.

CATTLE DRIVE WEEKENDS

2025 Cattle Drive dates:

April 11-13

April 25-27

May 9-11

May 23-25

June 6-8

Enjoy a long weekend in the great outdoors, full of beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance and working the cattle herd at Tom and Pat Seay's cattle farm. This is the perfect adventure for riders who want to do something different with their horses.  You do not have to have any experience with cattle.

Guests will learn a variety of skills from horseback, including gathering and moving cattle around the farm and in pens. Riders and horses new to cattle will have time to slowly acclimate to moving cattle on Friday afternoon. All of our guests are treated to five delicious hot meals throughout the weekend, cooked right here at the farm and served to you family-style around the long dining table. Guests are also invited to take part in leisurely guided trail rides around the property.

Check In: Friday by  noon for Meet & Greet and light lunch.

Check Out: Sunday morning

SIMPLE Boone Days 2020.png
DANIEL BOONE DAYS

In 1759, frontiersman Daniel Boone fled the Cherokee Wars in North Carolina and moved his family here to Culpeper County, Virginia at a time when the population was less than 200 people. Boone is believed to have made his living as a teamster, hauling tobacco grown on local farms, including lands where Andora Farm now stands, and taking the tobacco to port to send across the Atlantic to England.

During Daniel Boone Days, visitors can learn more about life in colonial Virginia, interact with local artisans & craftspeople, and explore the farm.  Visit an authentic living-history Civil War Camp with battle re-enactments and watch a cattle drive demonstration.  Take a hay ride and hear a short talk on the history of the area and Andora Farm.    In 2022 we had over 3300 visitors.

Past crafters have included blacksmiths, bread makers, candle makers, fur trappers, potters, quilters, soap makers, spinners and weavers.

Next Scheduled Boone Days is Sept 20-21, 2025
